Our poor Rzy-Poo
Seriously?!?! So when I came home from Brewer this past weekend I noticed that Rza was limping on his leg. But this time.....it was his "good" leg, which I guess technically is now his bad leg because the one he had surgery seems fine. We were thinking (hoping) that it was just a fluke thing but when it continued we decided to take him to the vets. Jon took him this morning and the diagnosis we got is NOT good. It is definitely something with his knee and he is going in on Tuesday for further X-rays. I cannot believe this is happening AGAIN!!!! and so soon!! I do not want to go through this....and I am sure he does not want to either.

Kayaking
On Tuesday after work Jon and I rushed to Kennebunk to meet Jon's boss and his wife to go kayaking down the Saco River. We only have so much sunlight left in the evening these days. It was so beautiful, especially watching the sunset as we were going down.

Old Port and Old Orchard
Meagan came to visit this past weekend and she had never been to the Old Port. So during the day on Saturday we went into Portland and walked around the Old Port and stopped into all of the WAY too expensive shops. It was fun because I haven't really done that on my own either. Then at night we went to the Old Port to see the nightlife which is totally different than during the day. We went to Old Port Billiards and played some pool.
This is a shot from the Pier. It doesn't look that packed but it was ALL the way down the beach.

The Saco River
Rza is now feeling better and Jon and I somewhat have our social life back since we can leave the house together. On Friday we both took a half day to do something fun. One of Jon's co-workers who lives on the river let us borrow his boat and we went exploring. It was a little cool out and threatening rain, but we managed to get off the river right before the rain came. We stopped along the bank at this little place where we stopped to explore.

Battle Wound
This past week was Rza's last week with his cone collar on. He had three staples left and we wanted to make sure they stayed in for as long as possible. Since I have been putting his collar on before I leave in the morning, Rza and I have had daily battles to get it on him and it has gotten progressively worse through out the week. He would anticipate this battle every morning and get all worked up. On Friday (his last day of wearing it) he was especially stubborn. The process would go like this:

1. I would grab the collar and he would run away.
2. I would tell him to get onto the couch which took 5 minutes.
3. I would lay him on his back and then straddle his neck so that his paws were underneath me.
4. I would try to get the collar on about 3 times unsuccessfully because he would wiggle his paws out from under me and claw it off his head.
5. I would FINALLY get it on.
6. Rza would be panting and I would be all flustered myself and at this point almost late for work.
This is the battle wound i received Friday...
(It isn't that much of a wound but just really long)
hopefully we won't have to battle the cone collar EVER again.
