Winter 2010

Christmas 2010: Jon's sister's house, Good Food and Presents, Family, and Lots of fun :)
Jon and I both took Monday off, (which worked out good because we got a BLIZZARD). We are training Royce for a snow pull in January, so what better way to train than pulling someone on a sled in the snow? Here is the view from both ends...and I have to say it is REALLY fun!

Thanksgiving

We hunted this turkey for Thanksgiving.
My parents bought a bow and arrow set.
And we each took turns aiming at the target.
It was cold, but fun, and most of all we spent time with family and ate lots of good food!

Shopping Spree!!

At work we had a surprise shopping spree! A stretched Hummer Limo picked us up from work, dropped us off at the mall and we each got $150.00 to spend in one hour. Here we are with all of our shopping bags! Thank you EA :)

First Weight Pull Competition

Check this out!!

Yesterday was Royce's first official weight pull competition. He weighed in at 103 lbs and he was the heaviest dog there (by one pound). We woke up at 4:30 am to drive to Connecticut to weigh in at 9:00, then we waited ALL day (until around 3:00) for his weight class to compete. It was well worth it!! We were so proud of our little poochy. He got second place and was only beat because the other dog pulled the same amount in less time. For his first competition he exceeded everyone's expectations and pulled 1,950 lbs!!! I think we have a Grand Master on our hands! The video is of him pulling 1,775 lbs.
We went with our dog trainers and they competed with their dogs, Brina and Panser who also placed in their weight classes.
Proud Dad :)

Hiking

Mom and dad came down for their annual visit. Usually we put them right to work, but this time we decided to have fun. We went on a long hike..and the view was worth it.
Of course Royce had the most fun of all.

Labor Day 2010

This past weekend Jon and I went with some friends up to a camp near Rangely. The boys went four-wheeling while the girls went hiking and relaxing with the dogs.
The view from the camp was amazing.

At night we went hunting for moose, unfortunately we only saw one really fast running into the woods. It reminded me of when my parents would take us moose hunting up near Moosehead Lake when I was little.

Our mini vacation

Jon and I desperately needed to get our teeth cleaned, which gave us a great excuse to take some time off and visit my parents. We hiked, made s'mores, wakeboarded, swam, celebrated and visited friends.
While we were there little Beckham turned one year old, and he REALLY enjoyed his cupcakes!

Saco Canoe Trip 2010

Our second annual canoe trip started early Saturday morning in Fryeburg. Eight of us loaded all of our camping gear, food, ourselves and in our case Royce into our canoes and floated away.

Royce did little of this...

And ALOT of this the first day of our trip
Royce's friend Charlie also went on our adventure
Royce was so tired from swimming all day that he laid by the fire all night
And slept, curled up in the bottom of the canoe the entire next day of paddling
Can't wait for next year!

A Summer of Weddings

Jon and I had so many weddings this summer. We had a great time at them all but are relieved they are finished. Here's our wedding montage:

Jon's co-worker Dennis and his wife Nancy.

At my co-worker Katie's wedding

At our friends Casey and Emily's wedding that we were both part of the wedding party.

And finally, another co-worker of mine, Kavita (Thanks mom Bell for the dress!)

A step in the right direction

We (by we I mean Jon) have been slowly starting to think about finishing our upstairs. Jon's dad came to help with electrical and plumbing. Here are some pics through out the stages...Exciting!

Camp

At camp, we did a little of everything...swimming, tubing, game playing, kayaking, wakeboarding, boating, and more swimming. It was so much fun and Royce just couldn't get in enough swimming!

Cute little Beckham is almost crawling!

4 years!

A toast to four years of marriage! Love my husband!!!

Proof

Although Royce did jump out this time and we hauled him back in...but we still didn't dump :)

A 90lbs dog in a canoe....

Sounds like a bad idea doesn't it? And also add: A 1 year old, energetic, been in a crate all day, puppy to that and you have Royce. Jon and I have been wanting to take Royce in a canoe since we first got him. Well Monday was that day. And surprisingly....we didn't go overboard. Although I don't have pictures to prove it because I thought for sure we would end up wet. Next time we will get pictures because Royce is a sight to see in a canoe with his very own life vest!!!

Royce loves his new best buddy Kingston!

Peaks Island

Fridays off are good for spending the day on an Island with the ones you love....so that's exactly what Jon and I and Royce did on our day off! Royce was not a big fan of the ferry, but he loved our long walk along the ocean. We stopped at a bunch of beaches on the back side of Peaks. This one was covered in small smooth rocks and was sooo beautiful.

We had such a beautiful day and Royce LOVES swimming...he was a little nervous of the seaweed at first, but he got over it.
On the ferry!

Broomball

One of Jon's friends birthday's was this past weekend and his wife surprised him by renting some ice time and getting a bunch of his friends together to play Broomball. For those of you who are not familiar with Broomball (which I was not) it is played with brooms and a bouncy ball on the ice in sneakers. I was unsure of what to expect...but it was SOOO much fun! There were many broken brooms and lots of goals scored by ME...okay well one goal and an assist by me.

Mudding

Someone is finally building in our subdivision! Royce, Jon and I had to check out the progress...Royce of course leading the way, until he saw the excavator which he was scared of. It didn't take him long to get over it and soon he was running through huge tire ruts FULL of mud and puddles. He was such a dirty puppy afterwards, but it was all worth it.

What a handsome DIRTY bulldog
